Bear Mt. Leos take a break from meetings during the summer but do continue to volunteer and help in the community. We held an ice cream fundraiser at Cold Stone Creamery, raked & bagged leaves to raise money to send a youth to Camp K, the diabetes camp. We want to thank Michelle for all the goodies on diabetes, t‐shirts and the information on the camp. It was a great learning experience for us.
We continue with our Senior Power Hour each month at the Chugiak Senior Center. It is so much fun visiting with the seniors, learning new games, putting together puzzles and doing the ladies nails.
Two of our Leo’s attended the Anchorage Performing Art Leo’s charter night. On the 3rd of July four of us helped the Lions with doing special hair painting. It was a lot of fun. 6 members from our club attended the Bear Paw Pageant and 5 of us were in the Bear Paw parade (some even got blisters)…
Next week‐end we are participating in the Relay for Life and plan to spend the night (20 hours). We will hold a bake sale at the Relay to raise money for cancer research.
We are also working on ways to raise lots of money so we can go to Lions International Convention in 2015.
