In May we opened the park for summer, served over 350 children hot dogs, vegies, potato chips, cookies and punch for our annual Kids Day in the Park. Supplied cakes and cupcakes for the Tyson Reading carnival and said good bye to Lou and Charlotte.
June brought on our installation, Tour de Cure and a good bye to Buster and Cheryl, and Glacier Pilots games. We added new security doors to the club house for $15000.00 and committed to replacing the backstop and dugouts on Blackburn field aproxinmately $26000.00.
We donated 500 lbs of food to Lunchbox along with $1576.00 and spent 72 hours packing lunches April thru June 30.
July found us again at the Glacier Pilots games. We hosted Campabilities in the park mid month, Sleeping Lady Mountain Lions brought dinner for the campers. We added 20 yards of woodchips around our playground equipment, committed to bear proof trash containers for the park for $15000,00 and should have them sometime late August in the meantime we will pour concrete pads for 10 trash recepticals 5 single and 5 double so they will be installed before winter. We attended a ribbon cutting for Mt. View Park, Davis park in which they unveiled astro turf on Blackburn field that was donated from the Anchorager football statium and new backstops and dugouts on Peck field.
We are housing the International Youth group from 49 B. 25 youth and 10 chaperones. We commited to dinner one night and to house them at the club house for 5 nights.
We are looking forward to completing the projects that we have committed to prior to winter and closing the park.
