Salvation Army Christmas Donation and Christmas Kettle Bell ringing project. Club members staffed the Kettle at our local downtown IGA Foodland on Saturday December 20th. The Club put a $250.00 donation in the kettle and Ten Lions and other family members volunteered 24 hours of time.
Christmas Families: The Club got the names of 3 families this year, one a single mom with 6 children, one a couple with 3 children and another single mom with 6 children. We are provided the names, age, gender and a list of needs for each member of the family. Club members, using the lists of needed items and children’s hoped for items, purchase presents for each child and the adult(s). Clothing needs such as jackets and shoes are our highest priorities but in the end every child gets at least one needed item and one fun item. The parents get a gift and in addition the club furnishes breakfast and dinner food
items for Christmas day. The total cost/donation for this year’s purchases was $1,929.00.
Mid-Winter Summary Report: The attendees who represented our club provided each club member with an “After” Mid-Winter Conference Summary Report. The goal was to share as much about the conference in hopes of engaging our members in keeping informed about statewide operations. Multiple action items were presented as a result of the conference that BOD acted upon.
