The activities since November have been:

  • Finished distributing the dictionaries, thesauruses and atlases to the local  school children.
  • The school children have sent our Lions Club “Thank You Notes” for their having received these books.
  • We have purchased a shot gun and rifle for use in our Annual Scholarship Fund Raising Raffle with the winner’s names being drawn during the local “Progress Days” celebration in July 2015.
  • Making arrangements for our booth at the “Kenai Home Show” event.
  • Making arrangements for our booth at the “Kenai Sports Show” event.
  • Setting up the details for our “Money Raffle” with profits going towards sight and hearing medical expenses.
  • Selecting a committee which will establish guidelines and parameters for the awarding of our Lions Club Scholarship funds.
  • Used Eye Glass Collection efforts have been fabulous. Real success story in the quantity we have collected and been able to provide the North Pole Recycling Center.
  • “White Cane Safety Day”, October 15, 2015, our club is establishing the details for what we plan to do in our participation.
  • Our Club accepted the challenge to donate $100 to help defer the travel expenses, etc. incurred by our District Governor.
  • Per information from our member Kathleen Harrison, Soldotna Lions Club voted to donate $500 towards the medical expenses of a local resident who needs such assistance.
